Personality:

Positive

+ charming. He has to work to actually turn it on, but his charisma never shuts up. Behind dead eyes and never-ending hope, he's able to lead a settlement of survivors unmatched. His natural charm does it for the ladies in his encampment to the point that multiple women pursue him. His only consequence being a little physical assault. Even the hard decisions he makes aren't questioned because when it comes down to it, Dean looks like he knows what he's doing and that comes from a natural charisma. In his earlier years, he was a shameless flirt and leaned into his sexual prowess. His charm makes him great at improvisation, as he used to insert himself easily while on a case. Where he used to slip in unnoticed, his charisma takes over and people don't question him when he does end up somewhere. His charm also leads into a more adaptive part of his personality that has grown more rigid over time.

Negative

- cocky. He admits it as much out loud. He let his cockiness run his actions for five years. His cockiness pushes into his determination. He is dogged in his pursuit of the cult and in what can be done about his brother aka Lucifer now. Unfortunately, his cockiness is dismissive and he stopped working well with others a long time ago. His cockiness makes him the decider and it leads to incredibly difficult and quite dark decisions that he thinks are right. His cockiness means he does not break easily, even when being tortured mentally or physically. He is so cocky people have come to call him "fearless leader."

- traumatized. It started as a kid when he lost his mother young and became his brother's caretaker while his father turned into a militant hunter. It's implied throughout the series that John had abusive tendencies and raised Dean to be tough and not weak. He buries his trauma underneath an uncaring facade. Because of this trauma and never having learned how to better deal with his emotions, he prefers the silent treatment when someone disappoints him, often turning to ignoring a person until he has to take a swing at them. His father gave his life for him. His mother died. His trauma has also translated into deep, abiding anger and frustration. When he needs to, he explodes, and it often can't be stopped. These days he represses the emotional side of himself. He is by the book. He is 'do what is necessary' and he doesn't talk about it. What does talking help, it's never helped his trauma and it won't know. His trauma makes him a volatile person deep down and very distrusting, even of himself when it comes down to it.

- impersonal. He has stripped back a lot of his own human qualities because they don't do him or his followers any good in survivor mode. It is not that he's cold and unfeeling, as he is anything but, but it does him no good to express any of it beyond strategy and survival. Do this, think that, and not why. Because of that, he keeps his and everyone else's personal feelings at bay. When his past self calls him out, he recognizes that he's changed - but he truly believes he had to and that he had no other choice. Whereas a younger Dean had no poker face, Dean plays everything close to the vest now, and impersonally, not indicating in his facial expression what he's thinking. Sometimes, because he thinks he should, sometimes because he's too tired not to, and sometimes because it's a matter of life or death. Because everything to him now is life and death. And emotions could compromise that.

Powers and Abilities:

Dean was trained at a very young age in combat and marksmanship. He's an expert in hand to hand, a plethora of firearms, knives, and swords. He has a wealth of supernatural knowledge, including wards and sigils that keep out demons and angels. He knows very basic Enochian. He also has knowledge of devil traps and the incantation to force a demon out of a possessed vessel.

Because he comes from his time, he also has an extensive knowledge for personal and societal survival. He could ration you for months successfully, or he could stock you up if you're expecting the big one. You want him on your side when the world ends.

He also carries with him a wealth of pop culture knowledge. He is not quite as much of a functional alcoholic as he used to be, based both on resources and you can't very well survive an apocalypse drunk.

Inventory:

+1 Rucksack with
+1 Colt, a weapon that will probably be just a gun in Duplicity, but meant to kill a demon, he acquired it to kill Lucifer
