he spots the box as he closes the door behind himself. he reads the note first. he doesn't know how he feels. he holds the pendant on a chain in his hand while he reads, then dangles it in front of himself as he contemplates it.
he's not ready. he's shut down. but maybe the first part, getting sam back, thaws him. and the second part, castiel's olive branch.
either way, he sets the pendant back in his box, sticks it in his bedside drawer and shuts it.
